The Last Spike

A flip of the calendar isn't a magic wand, but it provides time to reset, refocus, to prayerfully reflect and recenter on Christ. We live not for the fast like but for the last spike.Think about 4 phrases that are a call to action. Paul uses athletic metaphors of competition to describe the Christian life. This passage challenges us to think of our faith journey not as a passive experience but as an intentional and disciplined pursuit. Just as athletes train for competition, we are called to train and run with purpose to obtain an eternal prize.

Generosity Through Giving

We want to thank those of you who give faithfully and systematically to our church. We hope you know how important your giving is to what God is doing at FBC Seminole, in our community, and across the planet through the different ministries we are able to partner with through your financial generosity. We've fixed plumbing, remodeled kitchens, replaced shingles, celebrated our teachers, and made  a difference in a host of other opportunities. Your generosity matters. We offer Financial Peace University on a consistent basis for those who need financial help.  It's a financial management system that allows multitudes to eliminate debt and live in freedom. Text the amount you want to give to 84321.

"If you want to jubiliate [celebrate] over driving the first spike, go ahead and do it. I don't. Those mountains over there look too ugly. We may fail, and if we do, I want to have as few people know it as we can ...Anybody can drive the first spike, but there are months of labor and unrest between the first and the last spike." Collis Huntington

Crafting Your Story (Testimony)

1. Keep it short (3 minutes is a target)
2. Have a before, how, and after (how may be deeper understanding).
3. Have a bottom line – theme
4. Clearly present the gospel by pointing to Jesus.

2. Prepare for the Moment - Run in Such a Way to Win the Day

3. Say No to Say Yes - Agonize for the Prize

There are cracks in Christmas. We live in a broken, lonely world.

Sometimes the best decision you can make for yourself is making decisions against yourself.

A good thing can be a bad thing if it keeps us from the best thing.
