hey

35,000 and Seven. 35,000 is the number shaping my life. Seven is the the number that allows me to take back my life.

I make my decisions and my decisions make me.

C.S. Lewis, a brilliant Christian thinker, in Mere Christianity: “Good and evil both increase at compound interest. That is why the little decisions you and I make every day are of such infinite importance. The smallest, good act today is the strategic point form which, a few months later, you may be able to go to victories you never dreamed of. An apparently trivial indulgence in lust or anger today is the loss of a ridge or railway line or bridgehead from which the enemy may launch and attack otherwise impossible."

Have you pre-decided whose tomorrow you are living for?

I pre-decide what matters.

I ask God to help me decide now what I will do later.

I. Pre-Decide You Will Be Faithful

What one-word goal would you choose to describe your life?

We live under divine direction not human ambition.

Faithfulness begins with a declaration that before the opportunity comes - Jesus decides.

When I plan without prayer, I move without permission.

II. Pre-Decide to be Faithful in the Now
Delayed obedience is denied obedience.

Faithfulness isn't for someday - it's for today.

III. Pre-Decide with Eternity in Mind
hey

We misjudge the brevity of life and the length of eternity.

When Jesus is Lord of the future, we finally start living in the present.

Pre-Decide This: I will join my church in attend one/serve one.

• I will attend church—because worship shapes my week.

• I will serve in church—because purpose grows through people.

Connect Group Questions — PRE–DECIDE

James 4:13–17

1️⃣ Warm-Up
When you think about the future, are you more of a planner, a dreamer, or a “we’ll figure it out later” person? Share one funny or humbling story where your plans didn’t exactly go according to plan

2️⃣ Scripture Reflection: James 4:13–17
• What part of this passage challenges you the most — human confidence or God’s sovereignty?

• Why do you think James calls presumptuous planning arrogant or evil?

• How is “If the Lord wills” more than just a Christian cliché?

3️⃣ Life is a Mist
James describes our life as a vapor.

• How does that truth hit you right now — scary, sobering, or motivating?

• What changes when we remember the brevity of life without falling into fear?

4️⃣ Delayed Obedience
James 4:17 says that knowing the right thing to do and failing to do it is sin.

• What are some “good intentions” in your life that always seem to get pushed into “later”?

• What barriers make obedience difficult in the moment?

• What has helped you act on faith before you feel ready?

5️⃣ Faithfulness Isn’t Accidental
The sermon teaches that we must “pre-decide” who we will be before the moment tests us.

• Where do you most need a pre-decision — purity, generosity, courage, priorities, relationships, forgiveness?

• How would your week look different if you made that decision now?

6️⃣ Surrendered Future ≠ Passive Living

• How do we plan wisely for the future but still live surrendered to God today?

• What does a “Lord-willing lifestyle” look like in practical, Monday-morning ways?

7️⃣ Next Steps — One Move of Obedience

What is one clear, simple step of obedience God is putting in front of you?

• How will you take that step before this week is over?

• How can this group support you — accountability, prayer, encouragement?

Encourage the group to write down one pre-decision on a card or phone:

“I’ve pre-decided: ____________ because Jesus is Lord of my life.”
