Wisdom isn’t pretending that the days aren’t evil - it’s trusting that God can redeem even the evil days. God can use even the seasons that you want to fast-forward through.
Most people trade what they want most for what they want in the moment.

When has Jesus ever led you into the wilderness and NOT given you manna?
