Waffles & Spaghetti

Waffles and Spaghetti
If we sometimes go all in to shed physical love handles, we need to pursue relational love handles. Handles help us with the reality that falling in love is easy, but staying in love requires a plan. Love handles are tools and rules that shape and guide relationships toward better outcomes. Love handles can be defined as demonstrable actions and attitudes that create deposits in the emotional bank accounts of our partner. Love handles are ways to leverage love and create real intimacy as God intends.

Giving to FBC

We want to thank those of you who give faithfully and systematically to our church. We hope you know how important your giving is to what God is doing at FBC Seminole, in our community, and across the planet through the different ministries we are able to partner with through your financial generosity. We've fixed plumbing, remodeled kitchens, replaced shingles, celebrated our teachers, and made  a difference in a host of other opportunities. Your generosity matters.
We offer Financial Peace University on a consistent basis for those who need financial help.  It's a financial management system that allows multitudes to eliminate debt and live in freedom.
Text the amount you want to give to 84321.

Aces in the Hole: Dignity and Diversity

Matthew 19:4-6 NIV

“Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

A man, properly aligned with the Giver of Life, applauds being a man.
A woman, when connected to her Creator, relishes being a woman.
Husbands and wives that live by the biblical script, “enjoy unity without uniformity, difference without superiority, and reflect God’s character to a watching world."
“Men focus on achievement; women focus on relationships. It sounds simplistic and it probably is. But remembering this general rule can save every couple wear and tear on their marriage and strengthen their bond.”
1 Peter 3:7 NLT

In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God’s gift of new life. Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered.

Ephesians 5:28-29 NLT

28 In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man who loves his wife actually shows love for himself. 29 No one hates his own body but feeds and cares for it, just as Christ cares for the church.

1. Communication (Talk)
Conversation creates climates. Speak Life.
Create Digital Boundaries.
Date Your Spouse. Marriage isn't the finish line. Marriage is the starting line.
Colossians 3:19 NLT

19 Husbands, love your wives and never treat them harshly.

Song of Songs 2:15 NLT

15 Catch all the foxes, those little foxes, before they ruin the vineyard of love, for the grapevines are blossoming!

2. Affection (Touch)
1 John 3:18 NLT

18 Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.

3. Reliability (Time)
Ephesians 5:25-27 NLT

25 For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her 26 to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word. 27 He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault.

4. Empathy (Trust)
1 Corinthians 12:6 NLT

God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us.

1 John 4:19 NIV

19 We love because he first loved us.
