Generosity through Giving

We want to thank those of you who give faithfully and systematically to our church. We hope you know how important your giving is to what God is doing at FBC Seminole, in our community, and across the planet through the different ministries we are able to partner with through your financial generosity.
We've fixed plumbing, remodeled kitchens, replaced shingles, celebrated our teachers, and made  a difference in a host of other opportunities. Your generosity matters.
We offer Financial Peace University on a consistent basis for those who need financial help.  It's a financial management system that allows multitudes to eliminate debt and live in freedom. Text the amount you want to give to 84321.

Learn your limits
Exodus 18:13 NIV

13 The next day Moses took his seat to serve as judge for the people, and they stood around him from morning till evening.

Exodus 18:14 NIV

14 When his father-in-law saw all that Moses was doing for the people, he said, “What is this you are doing for the people? Why do you alone sit as judge, while all these people stand around you from morning till evening?”

Exodus 18:15 NIV

15 Moses answered him, “Because the people come to me to seek God’s will.

Exodus 18:16 NIV

16 Whenever they have a dispute, it is brought to me, and I decide between the parties and inform them of God’s decrees and instructions.”

Exodus 18:17 NIV

17 Moses’ father-in-law replied, “What you are doing is not good.

Exodus 18:18 NIV

18 You and these people who come to you will only wear yourselves out. The work is too heavy for you; you cannot handle it alone.

Exodus 18:19 NIV

19 Listen now to me and I will give you some advice, and may God be with you. You must be the people’s representative before God and bring their disputes to him.

Exodus 18:20-21 NIV

20 Teach them his decrees and instructions, and show them the way they are to live and how they are to behave. 21 But select capable men from all the people—men who fear God, trustworthy men who hate dishonest gain—and appoint them as officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens.

Exodus 18:22 NIV

22 Have them serve as judges for the people at all times, but have them bring every difficult case to you; the simple cases they can decide themselves. That will make your load lighter, because they will share it with you.

Exodus 18:23 NIV

23 If you do this and God so commands, you will be able to stand the strain, and all these people will go home satisfied.”

Exodus 18:24 NIV

24 Moses listened to his father-in-law and did everything he said.

No man or woman is so great that he or she cannot learn from someone who has their good at heart
Exodus 18:25-27 NIV

25 He chose capable men from all Israel and made them leaders of the people, officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens. 26 They served as judges for the people at all times. The difficult cases they brought to Moses, but the simple ones they decided themselves. 27 Then Moses sent his father-in-law on his way, and Jethro returned to his own country.

Genesis 1:26 NIV

26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

Genesis 2:7 NIV

Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

Though we are created in the image of an infinite God, we are created with a finite substance and therefore have limits
Some limits we have:
1. Time
2. Bodies
3. Minds
4. Giftings
5. Stages of life
Decide to delegate
Exodus 18:14 NLT

14 When Moses’ father-in-law saw all that Moses was doing for the people, he asked, “What are you really accomplishing here? Why are you trying to do all this alone while everyone stands around you from morning till evening?”

1. We lose our direction
2. We lose our distinction
3. We lost our devotion
Keep the main thing the main thing
Mark 1:35 NIV

35 Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.

Luke 5:15-16 NIV

15 Yet the news about him spread all the more, so that crowds of people came to hear him and to be healed of their sicknesses. 16 But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.

Luke 6:12 NIV

12 One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God.

Luke 22:41 NIV

41 He withdrew about a stone’s throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed,

Do you start each day asking God what He would have you do that day?
Remember to rest
Genesis 2:2-3 NIV

By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.

Sabbath is not a commandment we are bound to; it's a promise we are invited to enjoy
Matthew 11:28-30 NIV

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

True rest is found in our Redeemer
Mark 6:30-31 NIV

30 The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to him all they had done and taught. 31 Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”

Psalms 46:10 NIV

10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;I will be exalted among the nations,I will be exalted in the earth.”
