God wants to use our stories to reach others for Jesus. We should be willing to do anything short of sin to reach people who don't know Jesus Christ. Jesus shed light in the dark places, so we can share light in the dark places.

Spiritual sight is 10,000x more important than physical sight. Spiritual insight or illumination is how you see God. One of the most tragic consequences of sin and the fall is our sin leaves us spiritually blind, and perhaps worse, unaware that we are blind. We think we can see when we are walking in darkness.
Trust Him Deeper Certainty of our Hope
Believe Him Stronger Immensity of our Worth
Serve Him Longer Intensity of His Power
Know Him Better Finality of His Rule

2 Kings 6:8-17 NIV

Now the king of Aram was at war with Israel. After conferring with his officers, he said, “I will set up my camp in such and such a place.”The man of God sent word to the king of Israel: “Beware of passing that place, because the Arameans are going down there.”So the king of Israel checked on the place indicated by the man of God. Time and again Elisha warned the king, so that he was on his guard in such places.This enraged the king of Aram. He summoned his officers and demanded of them, “Tell me! Which of us is on the side of the king of Israel?”“None of us, my lord the king,” said one of his officers, “but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the very words you speak in your bedroom.”“Go, find out where he is,” the king ordered, “so I can send men and capture him.” The report came back: “He is in Dothan.”Then he sent horses and chariots and a strong force there. They went by night and surrounded the city.When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” the servant asked.“Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, LORD, so that he may see.” Then the LORD opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

As big as my fearful circumstances – God is bigger still. He’s greater.

It’s good to tell God about your big problems, but it’s better to tell your problems about your greater God.

The size of your problem is no match for the size of your God.

How I am Illuminated:

I acknowledge how I FEEL.

I admit what is REAL.

Insight is how I deal.

1. Acknowledge how I FEEL.

Fear has a way of stopping me in my tracks and hindering the work God wants to do in my life.

If God sends you to it – He will see you through it.

What if the next thing God wants to do in my life is on the other side of my fear?

Fear leads you to imagine Worse-Case Scenarios.

2. I admit what is REAL.

Faith in the moment isn't denying the difficulty or ignoring reality. Elisha's spiritual insight creates a crisis in surround sound.

Pursuing God’s purpose can be exhilarating. It can also be terrifying.

Faith isn’t the absence of problems. Faith is the presence of Jesus during your problems.

The primary promise of Scripture is God is with you.

3. Insight is how I DEAL.

Matthew 14:22-33 NIV

Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd.After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there aloneand the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake.When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”“Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”“Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”
